A patient with a successful outcome meets at least three of these criteria:

• decreased pain level
• significant increases in function
• return to work
• positive patient feedback
• significant strength gains and increased range of motion (if a ROM deficit existed)

The patient data b ase at the Med-X Clinic includes almost 700 patients who have been treated at least 10 times on the Med-X equipment (normal protocol calls for 12 weeks of treatment with 2 treatments per week for a total of 24 treatments). Average number of previous providers for the chronic spine problem is 3.1, 71% of the patients have not had surgery, 29% of the patients are post-surgery, and 83% were using medication at the start of treatment. It should be noted that virtually all the patients treated have experienced other treatment programs that failed to resolve their spine problem

Average strength increase for lumbar patients is 89%. For cervical patients, the average strength increase is 327%.
