Cold Laser also known as Low Level Laser therapy is a drug free non- invasive, painless therapy used to provide fast pain relief, enhanced neuromuscular function, and provide rapid healing of injuries.
How does it work?
Cold Laser can strengthen damaged cells. Using photochemical processes, laser light inserts bio-photons into damaged cells. The cells begin to produce energy (ATP), which improves their function, assists their division, strengthens the immune system, and causes the secretion of various hormones. The tissues are healed and pain disappears. If damaged cells have died, the bio-photons help the division of neighboring cells, generating new tissues, and thus bringing
about healing.
Benefits
In our clinic we have noted dramatic results with patient suffering from the following:
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Arthritis
Chronic back, shoulder, or leg pain
Neck pain
Tennis elbow
Rotator cuff injury
Joint pain in knees, hands, ankles
Muscle spasms
How long will it take before I can see results?
All people respond differently, some can see results after only 3 - 15 cold laser treatments. Chronic conditions are likely to take a bit longer before there is a noticeable improvement. As a rule of thumb, allow at least one or two full courses of treatment before you can expect to see noticeable results.
Is Cold Laser Safe?
Yes. Laser therapy is a drug-free, non invasive therapy with superior healing ability. However, since lasers produce a high intensity light, one should never shine the laser directly into the eye. Further it is recommended that the laser device not be used directly on any neoplastic tissue. Pregnant patients should refrain from laser therapy applied directly on the abdomen.
Is laser therapy scientifically well documented?
There are more than 120 double-blind positive studies confirming the clinical effects of laser therapy. More than 300 research reports have been published. Looking at the laser therapy dental literature alone there are over 300 studies. More than 90% of these studies do verify the clinical value of laser therapy.
